excalibur las vegasOn your next trip to Las Vegas, why not take a trip back in time to the Middle Ages, when knights in shining armor roamed the land? Located at the Southern end of the Vegas Strip, the Excalibur hotel does just that. From the moment you step inside the brilliant white castle, you trip to the medieval begins. Stunning architecture, stone columns, and candle chandeliers are in stark contrast to all the glitzy neon that you just left behind.

The Excalibur is definitely the place to be if you are taking a Vegas trip with the children in tow. There are a ton of family activities on tap in the Fun Dungeon, and the large outdoor pool area has a waterslide that will keep the kids entertained for hours. That will give you ample time to sit back and relax in your own private cabana. For a feast of epic proportions, you need to take in the “Tournament of Kings.” Battles and jousts between rival knights rage on as you take in the action and eat up your 3-course meal without the aid of silverware.

It’s not all family fun at the Excalibur, though, as the hotel has undergone some major renovations to make it appealing to the singles and mature adults without little ones in tow. The grown-up action starts with the Thunder Down Under show, which features a bunch of hot male strippers taking almost all off for the audience. A little milder entertainment can be had at “The Australian Bee Gees Show,” where open shirts, huge medallions, and ample chest hair are always in fashion.

There are plenty of other places in the Excalibur that offers food fit for a king. The Steakhouse at Camelot is the place to go for the freshest seafood, delectable cuts of beef, and desserts that are truly regal. There is also some real family hospitality and Italian charm to be found at Buca di Beppo.

There is always food aplenty to be found at the Excalibur Buffet. If you are looking for a quick meal on the go, check out what’s on offer at the Castle Walk Food Court. Cinnabon, Hot Dog on a Stick, Topical Smoothie Café, Schlotzky’s, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are just a few of the food vendors with a spot in the 25,000 square foot food court.

There always seems to be some sort of live entertainment happening on the stage, while the menu offers up hearty meals like the Big Ass Burger, macho Nachos, and more, for those looking for a bite to go with their beer. Another great spot to get your drink on can be found at the Octane Lounge. Signature drinks are the order of the day there, so be sure to ask your leather-clad bartender to mix you up a High Octane Kiss, or perhaps a Blood, Sweat & Gears Cosmo.

The party atmosphere is carried over to the casino floor, especially on the weekends when “The Party Pit” is opened and scantily clad dancers perform on the stage. There is also a “Strip Poker Tournament” held on Saturday night, with losing hands resulting in a beautiful lady removing her clothes with bad hand. The all-girl band Dollface are on hand to deliver some rocking tunes in The Lounge, which can be found right on the casino floor.

There is no concrete bed to be found at the Excalibur, as the vast majority of the rooms have been renovated to deliver the highest level of comfort, whilst also boasting the castle theme. That said, there are very few castles that can deliver 42-inch plasma TV’s, clock radios with iPod docking capability, and pillow-top mattresses. There are a host of other convenience features that make you feel like the King or Queen of the castle when you stay.

There is plenty of space to relax in your room, but if you need a little hands on pampering, you need to visit The Spa at the Excalibur. The spa overlooks the pool area, delivering scrubs, massages, and facials to those that need a little TLC.

What would a castle be without a place to have a fairy tale ending? That can be found at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel, where the happy couple can even be wed in medieval attire.

The Excalibur is one of the few hotels on the Las Vegas Strip that offers fun and excitement for the whole family. It holds down a perfect spot on the Strip, being one of the stops on the train line that connects to the Luxor and MandalayBay. The Excalibur is an affordable option in the heart of the Strip, proving that you don’t have to spend a fortune in order to be treated like royalty.
