harrahs las vegasThere may be no water in the Nevada desert, but that didn’t stop the folks at Harrah’s Las Vegas from delivering a riverboat themed resort in the middle of the Strip. The hotel started life as the Holiday Inn Casino back in 1973, during which time it became known as one of the fun spots in Vegas. That theme continued when Harrah’s took over, and it is now a place that is perfect for those that love to display their youthful exuberance.

One of the most popular spots in the resort is Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill. Named after one of his songs, this is a place that is country at heart, but which delivers a rockin’ good time to anyone that visits. Music, dancing, great drinks, and massive portions are always on the menu here.

That isn’t the only place to grab a bite, though, as you can get your hands on some fresh seafood at the Oyster Bar at Harrah’s. Culinary legend Kerry Simon is the man behind the burger brilliance that is KGB: Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers, with sumptuous patties served in a Russian-themed restaurant. Succulent cuts of steak can also be had at Harrah’s by visiting Ruth’s Chris Steak House, where you will enjoy USDA Prime steak prepared in an 1,800-degree oven.

If you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, you can grab a quick bite at Harrah’s Café, which is open 24 hours. Take in “Italian nights” every day from 4-10pm, where checked table cloths and free flowing wine will make you feel as though you have crossed the pond to old Italy. Flavors Buffet delivers a stunning array of food choices, including crab legs that just keep on coming.

The jokes come thick and fast at the Improv Comedy Club, as well as in the one-man show, “Defending the Caveman.” Get a taste of old time rock & roll by taking in the “Million Dollar Quartet.” This amazing show tells the story of 4 musical pioneers – Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley – came together to deliver a night of music that won’t soon be forgotten.

There is always plenty of action to be found in the many hotel bars. If you are in the mood for a creative cocktail, head to the Carnaval Court, located outdoors. The Piano bar is home to the legendary Duelling Pianos, as well as TJ’s Karaoke Party. This is a place where you just can’t help but have fun.

There are gaming options to be found everywhere you turn in the 87,000 square foot facility. One of the coolest spots in the casino is the “Poker Place,” where every poker machine you have ever dreamed of is available to play. Then there is Toby Keith’s I Love This Party Pit, which brings the bar and grill to the casino floor and into the heart of the action.

If you need a break from all the fun and excitement, the outdoor swimming pool and private cabanas is the place to go. There is a fitness center available for guests, a beauty salon, and a luxurious spa, where you can get a massage or an aromatherapy treatment. There is also plenty of shopping available for those that want to give the credit card a workout. If you want to get out and about and explore other parts of the Strip and beyond, simply hop on the monorail or take advantage of the free shuttle to the Rio.

A pair of towers holding 2,526 rooms and suites makes up the accommodations at Harrah’s. The location of the resort is such that the view look out over the Strip, the pool area, the city, and even off to the mountains. There are a ton of amenities available in the rooms, as well as a whole floor dedicated to non-smoking patrons.

If you are looking for a place to party in the heart of the Strip, Harrah’s should very much be at the top of your list.
